Juventus head coach Igor Tudor has expressed his satisfaction with his squad’s performances so far at the FIFA Club World Cup. After a dominant 5-0 win over Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates in their opening match, the Italian side is now preparing to face Wydad AC of Morocco in their second group fixture.
Tudor acknowledged the positive momentum his team has built but emphasized the unpredictability of the competition. With Manchester City also victorious in their first game—defeating Wydad—the Bianconeri could book a place in the knockouts with a win in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Heat challenge and tactical focus
The upcoming match is scheduled for an early afternoon kick-off, at 13:00 local time (17:00 BST), and both teams will have to contend with the sweltering conditions. Asked about the high temperatures expected during the match, Tudor downplayed the impact, stating that both sides will have to endure the same weather and must concentrate on their objectives.
Reflecting on the challenge ahead, he praised Wydad’s quality and warned that they had good chances against City despite their defeat. Tudor stressed that no two games are alike, and each contest presents unique demands and conditions.
Confidence in team spirit and Elkann’s support
Tudor also shared encouraging news from the training ground, noting a high level of motivation and enjoyment among his players. He credited their positive display against Al Ain to solid preparation and teamwork and said he had sensed a strong connection with the group since taking over.
Speaking about the atmosphere within the club, the coach pointed to the presence of John Elkann, who has been with the team throughout the tournament and recently joined them during their visit with U.S. President Donald Trump. Tudor described Elkann’s role as supportive and influential, highlighting his importance to the club’s spirit and ambitions.
