Ola Aina names the best player in the Premier League

Nottingham Forest wing-back Ola Aina has revealed his pick for the best player in the Premier League.

Aina, a regular for the high-flying Nottingham Forest, was interviewed during a guest appearance on the popular football podcast Filthy Fellas.

The 28-year-old former Chelsea academy starlet didn’t hesitate to name who he believes is the most consistent footballer in the Premier League.

The Filthy Fellas panel members were hoping Aina would name Mohamed Salah, but he chose a different attacker.

When asked who he thinks is the best player in the Premier League, Aina responded, “He just delivers every game, every single game. Yeah – Saka.”

When prompted to share his thoughts on Salah, Aina added, “Mo Salah is definitely up there.”

Saka has scored five Premier League goals and provided 10 assists so far this season, while Salah boasts 15 goals and 11 assists in the top flight.

The Arsenal attacker is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during his team’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Saka will be sidelined for “many weeks,” with concerns growing that the England star could be out until March.

Arsenal’s medical team is hesitant to set a specific timeline for Saka’s return, considering his history of making swift recoveries from injuries.

“It’s not looking good,’ Arteta said. ‘He’ll be out for many weeks. I can’t be too specific because I don’t know, but it will be many weeks.”

“It’s a huge (blow). He’s obviously a big player for us.”

“He was gutted. You can tell that he has not been injured much because he was really, really emotional and really down.”

“We need to lift him up. It is a big part of his job. He will be fine but he is going to need a few days. He will immediately realise that he is so important in that dressing room.”

“His energy level, his body language, and how he communicates with the rest of the team have to be really good because it is the only way at the moment he can help.”

Aina has netted two goals in 17 appearances for Nottingham Forest, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side aims to secure a European spot.

Forest, currently in fourth place, will host Tottenham on Boxing Day.
