Arteta Anxious Over Saka’s Latest Injury

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is facing fresh injury concerns after being substituted early in the club’s dominant 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday. The 23-year-old winger exited the match in the 24th minute due to a hamstring issue and was seen using crutches as he left Selhurst Park.

Manager Mikel Arteta shared his apprehensions about the situation. “He felt something in his hamstring and couldn’t continue,” Arteta revealed. “It’s worrying, but we need further assessment to understand the severity.”

When pressed about the potential recovery time, Arteta admitted, “It’s tough to determine right now. Initial tests have been conducted, but we don’t have a clear picture yet.”

Injury Woes Deepen for Arsenal

The concerns about Saka come alongside news of another injury blow, with Raheem Sterling also sidelined. Arteta confirmed Sterling’s absence ahead of Saturday’s fixture but expressed uncertainty over how long either player would be unavailable.

“To lose two key players in such a short span is difficult,” Arteta stated. “Given the packed schedule, it’s not entirely unexpected, but it’s challenging for the team.”

Saka has already dealt with fitness issues this season, having missed matches after a previous hamstring injury sustained during international duty in October.

Recurring Issues Raise Questions

This latest setback marks at least the third hamstring-related concern for Saka in recent months. Arteta acknowledged that while it’s uncertain if the current injury is directly related to the previous ones, it affects the same leg.

“I’m not sure if it’s the same exact problem, but it’s in the same area,” he noted. “We’ll need to see how serious it is this time.”

Despite his injuries, Saka has remained an essential figure for Arsenal, rarely missing matches. However, these recurring issues could cast doubt over his availability during a crucial part of the season.
