Spurs to reject latest Bayern Munich bid for Harry Kane

Bayern Munich are expected to face another roadblock in their pursuit for Harry Kane with Tottenham Hotspur set to reject their latest bid.

The Bavarians have set their sights on Kane as their main transfer target and intend to pull out all the stops to get him. Spurs, on the other hand, do not want to sell and are looking for ways to keep Kane for the 2023/24 season and beyond.

Kane, meanwhile, is looking to leave the Tottenham Hotspur stadium but is torn between remaining in England or going abroad. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are his main suitors outside of England and they have all initiated contact at some point.

Bayern have already been rejected by the Lilywhites and returned with a £70 million bid. That new bid is expected to be rejected again, according to reports from England.

The Athletic reports that Bayern is waiting for word from Spurs but insinuates that the word could be negative – a rejection of their offer.

Meanwhile, a Chelsea move for the former Arsenal youth has been touted by the media. This is due to the Blues having Kane’s former manager Mauricio Pochettino as their new coach.

Asked about the possibility of reuniting with Kane at Stamford Bridge, the Argentine manager said: “I don’t like to talk about players in another club.

“But you are talking about one of the greatest, one of the best strikers in the world. It’s not fair to talk, it’s not fair to say nothing.

“People are not stupid, fans are not stupid, they are so clever and they know my relationship with him was always amazing.

“I saw him when he was young, grow up and achieve all he was achieving and of course we have a great relationship.”

It is unlikely that Chelsea will move for him, however, as Napoli front man Victor Osimhen still tops their transfer wishlist. They have also signed Senegal international Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal to bolster their attack.

Bayern legend Bastian Schweinsteiger has given his thoughts on Kane’s potential move to the Allianz Arena. Speaking with talkSPORT, Schweinsteiger said Kane is a perfect fit for the Bavarians but also a potential problem with the move.

“Yes, 100 per cent [Kane fits Bayern]. Bayern Munich are looking for a striker, a proper striker like [Robert] Lewandowski.

“Choupo-Moting is not good enough for Bayern Munich and so he’s more the plan B solution, but Bayern Munich would of course like to sign Harry Kane.

“I also know that Bayern Munich are not a club who will pay as much money as maybe the owner of Tottenham is asking for.

“So there will be one guy who puts the first offer on the table and says ‘no, we’re not paying so much’ but they’re looking for a striker, that’s for sure.”
