Conte claims that he needs to add more quality to a Spurs side that has enjoyed massive investment under the Italian. Spurs go into the World Cup break behind Newcastle, Man City and Arsenal and are ahead of Manchester United, Liverpool and a misfiring Chelsea. Despite their position, Conte believes he needs to make a move in the January transfer window.
The Italian gaffer said Spurs need to get their recruitment right to compete with the biggest sides and to challenge for the top trophies. He also said to be considered title contenders and win the big trophies, he needs players with great quality. Conte cited Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea as examples of teams with great players saying they are strong sides.
Tottenham survive Leeds United’s test
Tottenham needed to beat Leeds United to remain in the top four as the Premier League goes on break for the World Cup. The North London side took advantage of their early game to move into the third position before Newcastle took on Chelsea. Tottenham beat Leeds 4-3, but it was far from easy.
