PSG transfer news: Messi scouts 17-year-old winger for PSG; club in talks with out-of-favour Chelsea forward

A busy summer is in the works for Paris Saint-Germain and these are the latest stories making the media rounds concerning the Qatar-owned French football giants.

Messi asks PSG to sign 17-year-old Lazio forward

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi has reportedly urged his side to make a move for Lazio youngster Luka Romero. The 17-year-old winger earned his first senior callup for Argentina in the last International break where he impressed team captain Lionel Messi.

Romero is also one of the most highly-rated teenagers in Europe and has made four first-team appearances for the side since joining them in a €1 million move from Spanish side RCD Mallorca, where he spent his developmental years.

PSG have reportedly been monitoring the winger but Messi, after playing with him, has given the PSG bosses a glowing recommendation of the youngster and is reported, too, to be pushing for his signing.

Lazio are aware of the interest in Romero from across Europe and are looking to tie him down to a five-year contract when he turns 18 in November.

PSG make last-ditch effort to keep Mbappe at the club

Reports have claimed that PSG are going all-in in one last-ditch effort to keep Kylian Mbappe at the club beyond the summer.

Mbappe has been a long-time target for Spanish giants Real Madrid who are now in prime position to land the 23-year-old when his contract at the Parc De Princes expires in the summer.

PSG are reportedly making the move due to Mbappe’s reported desire to renegotiate his move to Real Madrid in the summer, in allusion to his comments in recent weeks that “new elements” have arisen with respect to his move to the Spanish capital.

Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague claimed that PSG are willing to offer Mbappe a €150 million signing-on bonus, plus a €21 million annual salary, to sign a two-year extension this summer.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have a €25 million yearly wage package in the works for Mbappe but will not match PSG’s extra fee.

PSG contact Lukaku agents

PSG have also contacted the agents of Romelu Lukaku over a possible summer transfer, according to French outlet But!.

The 28-year-old will cost Chelsea a lot to maintain seeing as he has fallen down the pecking order at the club. Lukaku’s national team manager Roberto Martinez also advised Lukaku to find game time outside Chelsea ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup later this year.

But! claims that Leonardo Araujo, PSG’s sporting director, has recently had talks with the striker’s agent. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the talks is, but the club is reportedly looking to add one new striker due to the expected departures from the Parc De Princes at the end of the season.
