Maswanhise ruled out of upcoming friendlies as Warriors face injury setbacks

Warriors have suffered a major setback ahead of the upcoming Four Nations Tournament, with forward Tawanda Maswanhise ruled out due to injury.

Maswanhise was expected to travel with the squad, but reported a minor injury concern following his club’s match against Hibernian in Scotland over the weekend. The medical team has since ruled him out of the tournament, with the player remaining in Scotland to manage his recovery.

The 21-year-old attacker has been in promising form at club level, and his absence is a blow to the Warriors’ attacking options, particularly given his pace and versatility in the final third.

Maswanhise is not the only player sidelined, as several key squad members have also been ruled out through injury. These include experienced forward Knowledge Musona, striker Prince Dube, and Thando Ngwenya, further weakening warriors’ depth ahead of the international assignment.

In response, the Warriors technical team has moved quickly to reinforce the squad by calling up replacements from the local league. Washington Navaya of Hardrock, Jarrison Selemani from FC Platinum, Mongameli Tshuma of Highlanders, and Godknows Murwira have all been drafted into the squad.

The Warriors are set to use the Four Nations Tournament as part of their preparations for upcoming Africa Cupnof Nations qualifiers fixtures, making squad fitness and depth crucial for the technical team.
