Eden Hazard mulls move to the MLS after poor Real Madrid career

Eden Hazard is considering ditching Real Madrid for a spell in Major League Soccer (MLS). Following a disappointing World Cup campaign, the 31-year-old Real Madrid forward called it quits with international football.

Eden Hazard will remember his spell at Chelsea with fond memories. He was the best player in the Premier League, and it was a matter of time before he swapped the blue jersey for a more glorious colour.

Hazard had written his name in gold in the Premier League with several awards and trophies, with only the UEFA Champions League eluding him.

Zinedine Zidane was a great admirer of the Belgian and angled for a move for Hazard. The former Lille forward was under pressure to remain at Stamford Bridge. When Real Madrid comes calling, it is hard to resist. It was the spot Hazard found himself and eventually dropped the blue shirt of Chelsea for the glorious white of Los Blancos.

Hazard was to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who had just left for Juventus. For Hazard, the shoes left behind were massive ones and perhaps too big for him. Hazard has not been what Los Blancos fans expected. He has failed to live up to expectations, with Real Madrid looking to offload him. After a disastrous spell at the Santiago Bernabeu, Hazard is considering calling time on his Real Madrid career.

Eden Hazard eyes MLS move

Following a failed stint at Real Madrid, Eden Hazard is mulling over a move to the less strenuous Major League Soccer (MLS) at the end of the season. The Belgian arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu with a massive resume. He has not lived up to his reputation and is not considering leaving for the United States.

Just last week, Hazard announced his retirement from international football after the failed campaign by Belgium at the World Cup. The Red Devils crashed in the group stage, leaving Hazard with a hard decision concerning his club responsibilities. The 31-year-old lost his place to Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior, who was instrumental to the club’s success last season.

Hazard said he is unhappy with his lack of game time at Real Madrid. The situation seems untenable for the Real Madrid star. He is interested in a move next summer.

Hazard has not been at his best since he arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu. It has led to losing his place in the team.

A failed spell at the Santiago Bernabeu

According to L’Equipe, Hazard hopes to revive his club career and believes a move to the MLS would do him well. However, the Belgian forward is not keen on a January move as he does not want to unsettle his family.

According to Hazard, he has one year left on his contract and wants to show what he can do, but it isn’t easy. Hazard said he is not playing and wants to play more. He apologized for the situation on the ground in an interview before the commencement of the World Cup.

Hazard has a Real Madrid contract that expires in June 2024, but Real Madrid is keen to offload the forward next summer. The former Chelsea star has failed to adapt to life in the Spanish capital after his sensational $109 million move in 2019.

In the 14 La Liga games before the World Cup, Hazard featured just three times for Ancelotti and made no goal contribution. He has only played 72 games since his big-money arrival from Chelsea.
