Cristhian Mosquera joins Arsenal’s summer squad

Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera is on his way to Singapore to link up with Arsenal as the Premier League side moves closer to finalizing his signing. The 21-year-old has already settled on personal terms and received approval from his current club to join Arsenal’s preseason group.

The young Spanish international, who plays for the Under-21 team, will strengthen Arsenal’s defensive options during their tour.

Reinforcing the back line

Mosquera is expected to offer depth in defence, with the ability to operate both centrally and on the right. His presence will give manager Mikel Arteta another option alongside first-choice pair William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

The move also addresses the gap left by Takehiro Tomiyasu, whose contract was recently ended by mutual consent. With Tomiyasu gone, Mosquera arrives as a direct replacement in terms of versatility and defensive coverage.

Arsenal’s tour continues in Asia

Arsenal are currently preparing for matches in Singapore and Hong Kong. Their next fixture is against AC Milan at the National Stadium on Wednesday, followed by a meeting with Newcastle at the same ground on Sunday.

Following their games in Singapore, the squad will travel to Hong Kong to face Tottenham Hotspur, before returning to London ahead of the new season.

Mosquera featured regularly for Valencia last season, playing a full 90 minutes in all but one of their La Liga matches, and now looks set to begin a new chapter in north London.
