Victor Osimhen is open to continuing his career at Galatasaray after an impressive loan spell in the 2024–25 season, where he netted 37 goals in 41 appearances. The Nigerian forward is reportedly happy to remain with the Turkish champions beyond the summer, with the club willing to offer a €15 million annual salary — the same amount he would receive if Napoli exercised a clause to extend his current deal through 2027.
Galatasaray’s proposal matches Osimhen’s salary expectations, but they still face a major hurdle: Napoli’s strict stance on the striker’s release terms. The Italian side insists the only way for the transfer to be completed is by triggering the full €75 million release clause.
Napoli unwilling to budge on valuation
The clause, which is applicable to clubs outside of Serie A, remains valid until July 15, 2025. Napoli expect any interested party — including Galatasaray — to meet the full amount without negotiation. Despite Osimhen’s interest in staying in Istanbul, the gap between the Turkish side’s offer and Napoli’s valuation remains significant.
Sources suggest that while Napoli may eventually consider a minor reduction in the fee, they are not prepared to lower their demands by as much as €20 million. If Galatasaray wish to secure the 25-year-old on a permanent basis, a revised bid will be essential.
Previous offer from Saudi Arabia turned down
Osimhen’s commitment to European football was underscored by his earlier decision to decline a lucrative €30 million per year offer from Al-Hilal. His performances during the past season underlined his value on the pitch, making him one of the most sought-after strikers on the market this summer. Now, with time ticking before the clause expires next summer, Galatasaray must act quickly and decisively to convince Napoli to part ways with their star forward.
