He received a suspended two-year sentence for sexual assault and subsequently sought treatment for alcohol misuse. Additional accusations later surfaced, including allegations from his wife.
These off-field issues have made clubs hesitant to offer him a contract, despite his experience and previous goal-scoring prowess. His uncertain situation has led Venezia to carefully consider the implications of bringing him into their squad.

Despite the controversy surrounding the player, Venezia has not ruled out the possibility of signing Ben Yedder. According to Calciomercato.com, the club’s sporting director, Filippo Antonelli, confirmed that discussions are ongoing.
“We are reflecting on the situation and will evaluate over the next few days whether it can be considered an opportunity,” Antonelli stated. Venezia remains cautious as they weigh the potential benefits and risks of adding the experienced striker to their ranks.
