Galatasaray Boosts Bid for Roma’s Nicola Zalewski

Galatasaray continue to push for the signing of Roma winger Nicola Zalewski, after the 22-year-old rejected their initial offer earlier on Thursday. Despite the rejection, the Turkish club remains determined and has sent a delegation to Rome to negotiate directly with Roma and the player’s representatives ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline in Turkey.

Progress in Transfer Talks Between Roma and Galatasaray

Negotiations between Roma and Galatasaray have advanced, with the two clubs reportedly reaching an agreement on a transfer fee by midday Thursday. However, the deal now hinges on Zalewski’s decision, as the player has expressed a strong preference to remain with Roma, the club he has been with since joining their academy in 2011.

While Galatasaray’s offer included a notable wage increase, Zalewski declined the terms, opting to carefully consider his future with the Giallorossi. He was absent from first-team training on Thursday as he deliberated over his next steps.

Galatasaray to Improve Offer, Alternative Targets Lined Up

Despite the setback, Galatasaray has not given up on signing Zalewski. According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Turkish side is preparing an improved offer in hopes of convincing the winger to make the move to Istanbul.

If Zalewski remains firm in his desire to stay at Roma, Galatasaray is ready to pursue alternative options. Fodé Ballo-Touré of AC Milan and Napoli’s Mario Rui, both of whom are currently out of their clubs’ Serie A squads, have been identified as potential fallback options.

With the Turkish transfer window closing on Friday night, Galatasaray faces a race against time to secure one of their targets before the deadline passes.
