Bayern Triumphs 3-2 as Gnabry Nets Late Winner

Bayern Munich emerged victorious in a thrilling 3-2 contest against Wolfsburg, with Serge Gnabry scoring a decisive goal in the final stages of the match. This hard-earned win marked a successful Bundesliga debut for Vincent Kompany, who took charge of Bayern after departing Burnley in the summer.

Gnabry’s decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when he was released by Harry Kane. The German winger’s low drive struck the post before finding the back of the net, sealing the victory for the Bavarian giants.

Bayern Takes the Lead but Wolfsburg Fights Back

Bayern opened the scoring when Sacha Boey powered his way through Wolfsburg’s defense and delivered a precise cross to Jamal Musiala, who calmly tapped in from close range. Despite the early lead, Bayern found themselves repeatedly denied by Wolfsburg’s goalkeeper Kamil Grabara. Making his debut for the club and donning a protective face mask, Grabara made several impressive saves, including blocking a number of angled attempts from Gnabry and a remarkable header save against Kane.

Wolfsburg found a way back into the match early in the second half. Boey was penalized for a foul on Tiago Tomas inside the box, and Lovro Majer confidently converted the resulting penalty, placing the ball low into the corner to draw his side level. Majer struck again moments later after an error from Bayern’s Kim Min-jae allowed Patrick Wimmer to set him up for a simple finish.

Muller Sets Record, Bayern Rallies Late

Veteran forward Thomas Muller made history by breaking the club record for most Bundesliga appearances, surpassing Sepp Maier with his 474th league outing. His presence seemed to inspire Bayern, who found an equalizer through an own goal by Jakub Kaminski. Muller’s pressure on the Wolfsburg defender forced Kaminski to accidentally direct the ball into his own net.

The match remained on edge until Gnabry delivered the final blow with his late strike. His effort from Kane’s assist ensured Bayern walked away with all three points, giving Kompany a winning start to his managerial career in the Bundesliga.
