Nagelsmann reveals Germany’s Euro 2024 squad

Julian Nagelsmann, the head coach of the German national team, has unveiled his final squad for Euro 2024 after a gradual roll-out campaign introducing several players in the days leading up to the announcement.

Among the notable inclusions are Aleksandar Pavlović, Maximilian Beier, and Alexander Nübel. While Pavlovic and Beier have previously received call-ups during the March international break without making an appearance, Nübel earns his first-ever call-up due to his standout performances for Stuttgart this season.

However, one of the most significant surprises is the absence of Mats Hummels. The Borussia Dortmund defender, pivotal in their journey to an unexpected Champions League final, has been omitted from the squad in favor of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Robin Koch.

Warm-up matches and tournament schedule

In preparation for the upcoming Euros, Germany is scheduled to play two warm-up matches. The first match will be against Ukraine in Nürnberg, followed by a game against Greece in Mönchengladbach.

The tournament itself is set to commence on June 7th, with Germany facing Scotland in Munich for their opening fixture. Subsequent matches include clashes against Hungary in Stuttgart and Switzerland in Frankfurt.
